The Mentor |#64 | Thankful
Each month, I share 3 things I’ve read on skills, careers, and personal development.
“Gratitude turns what we have into enough.” — Anonymous
I’ve read that one of the simplest ways to calm your mind is to just make a list of things you are thankful for. There’s something about gratitude that does the mind and body well. It shifts the focus from what’s missing to what’s already present.
This marks the time of year when holidays around the world invite us to give thanks. Whether it’s Diwali in India, Canadian Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving in the U.S., the sentiment, if not the ritual, rhymes. Each is a pause in the constant motion.
In a world trained to look forward to the next goal, the next milestone, the next version, gratitude compels us to look around.
1
The quiet joys of aging with curiosity and gratitude.
2
Finding contentment in the present moment.
3
Rediscovering the everyday wonder we too often ignore.
