A simple equation: E + R = O.
Event + your Response = the Outcome.
Too many people view difficulties or setbacks as the outcome, when in fact, the outcome is only decided after the response.
But, the response is where it gets hard. They call it adversity for a reason. It’s not supposed to be easy.
Your response is typically a result of your preparation: all the things that you did to be ready - mentally, physically, or otherwise.

Preparation can be as simple as having a grounding process to help systematically narrow your focus. In this case, it’s referred to as ‘priming’.

Perspective helps too. I liked these 3 ideas: someone to look up to, something to look forward to, and someone to chase.
